Join us this Pride Month for a panel discussion with two LGBTQ+ youth peer leaders, Laura Yakas and Zenni Muhammad. Laura Yakas (she/her) is a lecturer and researcher who has written and taught extensively on intersections of madness and queerness. Zen Q “Zenni” Muhammad (ze/they/he) is a peer support advocate at HCRS playing a key role in developing a program for youth who are experiencing mental health challenges. During this webinar, the panelists will share their perspectives on the importance of LGBTQ+ youth leadership within mental health services and research, as well as current challenges facing LGBTQ+ youth and ways that peer services can address these challenges. They will also share about the role that intersectionality and other social theories play in their work. Webinar participants will have a chance to ask questions of the panelists and engage in discussion.
