As you may know, thanks in part to individual contributions to the National Empowerment Center, the United States continues to be a worldwide leader in developing and promoting peer-run, community-based, recovery-oriented organizations and practices. Now, more than ever, your contributions make a statement to legislators and the public that you value peer-run organizations in mental health and would like to see them continue and thrive.

Your support has allowed us to make an impact on the state, national, and international levels.

On the statewide level, we have worked extensively with the states of Delaware, Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, and California with a goal of making these states Emotional CPR states.

On the national level, NEC staff delivered several keynote addresses and workshops across the country, including in Ohio, Delaware, and Indiana. NEC staff continue to be involved in important national committees and advisory boards that will help to determine the future of health care reform and mental health care in the country, including collaborating with other community and organizational leaders to make the first national peer respite retreat possible.

On the international level, NEC staff and consultants have traveled to several countries including Kenya, Poland, and Scotland to deliver a message of hope and recovery and also learn about best practices that can be brought back home.

An important part of why your contributions are so important is that they allow us freedom and flexibility to do independent and creative work such as:

·       Helping to spread Emotional CPR across the world
·       Supporting the development of new innovative trainings such as Neurodiversity Gifts
·       Being responsive to your requests for support and technical assistance in a variety of areas, including support to family members
·       Developing innovative programs that support youth empowerment

Even with the great progress we have made, we regret that far too often we are unable to direct people to recovery-oriented, peer-run supports in their state or community, because they do not yet exist. We need your help to ensure that one day these innovative alternatives will be available to all.

Your support enables us to do additional, independent educational and advocacy work on local, state, national, and international levels that we would otherwise be unable to do. Please help us to continue these independent efforts by making a tax-deductible contribution to our 501(c)3 nonprofit. We believe that hope is catching, and we need your support to spread it as widely as possible.

You can make an online donation at our website: https://power2u.org/donate/ or mail a check made out to “NEC,” 3 Nantucket Place, Grafton, MA 01519.
